iPhone 5 Overview - Experience

The most challenging thing about the iPhone 5 is how it feels in your hand -- it's light. Sure, it's just 20 percent lighter than the iPhone 4S, but it's also smaller and bigger at the same time.Apple's best products beg to be held, to be touched, and the iPhone 5 is no different. 18 percent thinner with 12 percent less overall volume, despite having a longer screen.

Apple says the screen is more vibrant with better color saturation, but in my experience your reaction to the screen will likely have more to do with the level of brightness you set.

The heft of the iPhone 4 is gone but there's so much bright and shiny screen that it took me, a previous iPhone 4 user, a few days to get used to. It seemed unbalanced in my hand, as if it could be top heavy, and yet, it's perfectly balanced. It's an illusion, of course, created from daily familiarity over two years with my iPhone 4.

The 4-inch Retina display, which essentially offers up a whole new row of icons on your home screen, gives you just the extra room you needed without going overboard.

LTE

Other smartphones have been able to tap into the faster LTE data connections available by carriers for quite some time now, so in a sense the iPhone 5 is just playing catch up.

Maybe a little better -- it's hard to say sometimes if the speed of an action on the iPhone 5 has anything to do with data or if it's just due to the faster A6 processor.

Love the Camera

The HD video seems quite a bit better, too, even over the already great iPhone 4S. Apple says it has improved video stabilization, and since most of my previous video came from an iPhone 4 at a lower resolution (720p vs 1080p) -- the end result is much better video.

I take a lot of photos as well as some video, and while I prefer a DSLR camera with nice big lens over anything else, I pack my iPhone everywhere. So the camera has to do a lot of work.

Tidbits, Here and There

Frankly, a lot of the greatness in the new iPhone 5 is baked into the the operating system, iOS 6, much of which you can get via an iPhone 4 and/or 4S -- the brilliant AirPlay to Apple TVs, iCloud, Siri. So what else is new and different that matters?

The speakerphone and audio clarity seem a bit better so far, but I'm not sure it's by much

The Maps

So why have I waited so long to talk about Maps? Is it reluctance because everything else is so great? Maybe. Or maybe the whole Maps app flap is overblown. Maybe. When Apple ditched Google as the engine behind its built-in Maps app, Apple created a road to future improvement that Apple could control.

iOS 6 SPECS

iOS 6 SPECS: FIRST NEW IOS 6 SCREENSHOTS FROM IPHONE 4S: iOS 6 gives you more features to make the things you do every day even better. It’s coming this fall, and it’s free and easy to upgrade wirelessly on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch — the moment it’s available.

A review of iOS 6 is not a review of revolution, but of refinement. iOS has been the gold standard for smartphones and tablets since the day it was first introduced, and Apple's resisted the urge to make any radical changes, instead slowly polishing it with each successive version.
They have added certain useful features including:
Do Not Distrub mode
Passbook
Siri with more capabilities
Facetime
Facebook integration with IOS
New Maps

That means iOS 6 is recognizably the same basic operating system that shipped on the original iPhone in 2007, while its biggest competitor, Android, looks completely different from what Google started with in 2008.

IOS 6 JAILBREAK UNTETHERED

How-to jailbreak iOS 6:

Step 1: Download iOS 6, and then update to this latest version by following our instructions posted here.

Step 2: Download the latest version of Redsn0w for the relevant operating system from the iPhone Dev Team (Windows/Mac).

Step 3: Extract the contents of the downloaded compressed file and save it to a familiar location on your PC or Mac.

Step 4: Run the executable Redsn0w file, making sure to run in administrator mode if using a Windows based machine. If you are on OS X Mountain Lion, start Redsn0w by Ctrl-Click on the icon and then selecting Open from the new menu.

Step 5: Select the Extras option from the main menu of the Redsn0w interface and point it to the desired IPSW file.

Step 6: Redsn0w has advanced dramatically with the last few major revisions and now has the power to whip through the jailbreak without much interaction. Follow the onscreen instructions (Redsn0w might ask you to enter DFU mode) to complete the jailbreak process.

How-to boot tethered on iOS 6:

As already mentioned above, this is a tethered jailbreak, therefore you will be required to boot into tethered-mode every time you reboot your device. This can be done by starting Redsn0w: click on the "Extras" button on screen and then simply click on "Just Boot" option and follow the on-screen instructions. Once done, you will be rebooted back into tethered-jailbreak mode.

How-to install Cydia on iOS 6:

The current release of Redsn0w doesn’t install Cydia by default. To install cydia, follow the steps below:

The following steps to install Cydia is done using Terminal on Mac. You can use the same commands on Windows using a SSH program like WinSCP.

Note down the IP address of your device.
Make sure your device is connected to your PC or Mac. Start Terminal on Mac and type:
ssh root@<IP address of your device goes here>

It will now prompt you to enter the root password. Type: alpine
Once done, type:
wget -q -O /tmp/cyinstall.sh http://downloads.kr1sis.net/cyinstall.sh && chmod 755 /tmp/cyinstall.sh && /tmp/cyinstall.sh

Once done, the device will reboot and the extremely familiar looking Cydia icon will be sitting on the home screen in all of its glory. Jailbreak complete.

 Steven Paul "Steve" Jobs (February 24, 1955 – October 5, 2011)

He was an American computer entrepreneur and inventor. He was CEO of Apple Inc.

He was member of the board of directors of The Walt Disney Company. Jobs was born in San Francisco and was adopted by the family of Paul Jobs and Clara Jobs of Mountain View, California.
Jobs attended Cupertino Junior High and Homestead High School in Cupertino, California. He frequented after-school lectures at the Hewlett-Packard Company in Palo Alto, California, and was later hired there, working with Steve Wozniak as a summer employee.

In August 2011, Jobs resigned as CEO of Apple, but remained at the company as chairman of the company's board. Hours after the announcement, Apple Inc. (AAPL) shares dropped 5% in after-hour trading. The relatively small drop, when considering the importance of Jobs to Apple, was associated with the fact that Jobs' health had been in the news for several years, and he was on medical leave since January 2011.

Jobs earned only $1 a year as CEO of Apple,he held 5.426 million Apple shares, as well as 138 million shares in Disney (which he had received in exchange for Disney's acquisition of Pixar).Forbes estimated his net wealth at $8.3 billion in 2010, making him the 42nd wealthiest American.

Jobs married Laurene Powell, on March 18, 1991.

He had been diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his pancreas. The prognosis for pancreatic cancer is usually very poor; Jobs, however, stated that he had a rare, far less aggressive type known as islet cell neuro endocrine tumor.
